Running
In my search for understanding old heartaches linger on
I've lived ten thousand yesterdays will tomorrow ever dawn
Seeking answers to my questions there is no one to explain
Unnoticed here I perish and I can't escape the pain
Trapped in an endless vacuum faceless creatures pass me by
To and fro without direction they have no tears to cry
As I glance into a window the reflection that I see
Is the image of a stranger and I realize it's me
Chorus:
I keep running but cannot find a place to hide
Blaming everybody else for all this emptiness inside
Still I struggle I wonder if I'll ever see
I can never no run away from me
In a sea of desperation each soul an empty shell
I reason, as I look at them that surely this is Hell
This pit is filled with darkness I grow weary of the night
Now is there someone listening who will lead me, oh lead me, to the light
Chorus X 2

Description
|
Short Song Description: Can't seem to run fast enough to get away from himself.
|
Long Song Description: My feelings at the time I began writing this were hopelessness, fear, anger... major, major depression. It was my life at the time and for many years to follow.
|
Story Behind the Song: This song was extremely dark when I began writing it over 20 years ago. It went through major changes and this version, musically, was written by K.C. I didn't realize for many years that I was writing and singing about my battle with bipolar disorder.
