Lyrics

Philadelphia Shuffle
I woke up this mornin' in Philadelphia, PA
I been on the road it seems like night an' day
The car broke down I don't know what to do
Sittin' here wishin' I was home with you
I don't know if I ever wanna do this
Ever wanna do this again
I'm getting' so tired a sleepin' in motel rooms
Livin' on fas' food's gotta end real soon
Gimme a quarter pounder, a thick shake
A large fry, WOO, I can't wait, NO!
I don't know if I ever wanna do this
Ever wanna do this again
When I think that I could be with you
Safe in your tender care
Mmm, I miss your kiss somethin' terrible
How I'm achin' to be there YEAH!
Jus' three more days 'n' I'll be back to you, YOU
Dreamin' of your sweet lovin's all that gets me through
When I roll in please be ready to go
We gonna paint the town up jus' like a rainbow
I don't know if I ever wanna do this
Ever wanna do this again
I don't know if I ever wanna do this
Ever wanna do this again

Description
Short Song Description:
Car broke down in Philadelphia... the road was gettin' tough!!!
Long Song Description:
The song says it all. I was tired of trudging around the country doing it all. I was gigging alone, mostly Christian Coffeehouses, driving, loading and unloading my gear... including P.A. Playing for free will offerings and such. I was about toast.
Story Behind the Song:
I was on the road solo and my little Pinto Panel Wagon blew up. It happened as I rolled into Philadelphia. Took every penny I had to get it repaired... enough to drive back to Cincinnati, approximately 500 miles.
